I thought I’d craftily moved a test database to another server to run some tests. Obviously something has gone wrong. So now I’ll have a go at upgrading anyway as I do have a database back up at the very least. It just means fixing everything on the live site.

WordPress 2.3 is imminent. I’ve sorted out more or less how I’m going to tackle it.
I’ll write the new presentation theme to work with the new features in 2.3. One way or another the theme has to change as the site currently works with queries into the database which will be altered by the upgrade. [...]
